Hunter.io Pricing Explained: Plans, Credits and What Each Email Costs (2026)

email finderHunter.io Pricing Explained: Plans, Credits and What Each Email Costs (2026)

Hunter.io pricing has a Free plan with 50 credits a month and three paid plans: Starter, Growth and Scale, plus Enterprise on request. Starter is EUR 49 a month, or EUR 34 a month billed yearly, for 2,000 credits a month. One credit buys one email found, and a verification costs half a credit. These are the prices on Hunter's pricing page as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-09).

The catch is in the credit rules. On monthly plans, unused credits reset at the end of each billing cycle; on yearly plans, they expire after 12 months. Below are the full Hunter pricing table, what a credit buys, what each found email and each 1,000 verifications cost, and how CampaignKit's pricing differs. Prices change, so confirm them on Hunter's page before you buy.

What a Hunter credit buys

All of Hunter's search and verification tools draw on one credit pool. Per its pricing page (checked 2026-10-09):

  • 1 credit = 1 email found with Domain Search, Email Finder or Bulk Email Finder.
  • 1 credit covers up to 10 emails in Bulk Domain Search.
  • 0.5 credit = 1 email verified with Email Verifier.

Several searches cost nothing:

  • If no email is found, no credit is used.
  • If a verification comes back with the status Unknown, it isn't charged.
  • Disposable addresses are skipped and not charged.
  • The same search or verification counts once per billing period, so repeating it doesn't cost more.

Team members share one credit pool, at no extra cost per seat.

What an email costs

Divide each plan's price by its credits and you get the cost per found email. Since a verification is half a credit, 1,000 verifications use 500 credits.

Plan Per found email, monthly Per found email, yearly Per 1,000 verifications, monthly Per 1,000 verifications, yearly
Free EUR 0 (50 a month) n/a EUR 0 (up to 100 a month) n/a
Starter EUR 49 / 2,000 = EUR 0.0245 EUR 408 / 24,000 = EUR 0.017 EUR 12.25 EUR 8.50
Growth EUR 149 / 10,000 = EUR 0.0149 EUR 1,248 / 120,000 = EUR 0.0104 EUR 7.45 EUR 5.20
Scale EUR 299 / 25,000 = about EUR 0.012 EUR 2,508 / 300,000 = about EUR 0.0084 EUR 5.98 EUR 4.18

Computed from Hunter's pricing page as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-09).

These figures assume you use every credit before it resets or expires. If you use half of a Starter month, each found email costs twice as much. They also treat Domain Search like a single lookup, although Bulk Domain Search can return up to 10 emails per credit.

For how this compares with CampaignKit's finder, price per found email included, see our Hunter.io alternative comparison.

Monthly vs yearly billing

Hunter's page labels yearly billing "Pay yearly -30%". Starter drops from EUR 588 a year (12 x EUR 49) to EUR 408, Growth from EUR 1,788 to EUR 1,248, and Scale from EUR 3,588 to EUR 2,508.

On a yearly plan, "all credits are available upfront for the whole year": 24,000 on Starter, 120,000 on Growth and 300,000 on Scale. That helps if your volume comes in bursts, as long as you use it within the 12 months.

You can pay monthly, and you can cancel at any time. Hunter's pricing page says you keep access until the end of the billing cycle. Its plan FAQ adds that the account then moves to the Free plan. Non-profits get 30% off monthly plans (all checked 2026-10-09).

When Hunter credits expire

Hunter's help article on unused credits (checked 2026-10-09) sets out the rules:

  • Monthly plans: "Credits reset at the end of each monthly billing cycle. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month."
  • Yearly plans: credits are "valid for 12 months. Any unused credits expire at the end of the 12-month period."
  • Credit packs: "Valid for 3 months from the date of purchase."

Changing plans is the exception. If you upgrade or downgrade between paid plans, your leftover credits become an extra credit pack. Per the plan FAQ, that pack lasts 3 months if you came from a monthly plan and 12 months if you came from a yearly one. If you cancel, pause or move to the Free plan, leftover credits don't roll over.

So budget for what you'll use in the period, not what you might use eventually. CampaignKit credits never expire.

The Free plan

Yes, there is a Free plan with 50 credits a month. As of October 2026 it includes:

  • 50 credits a month, enough for 50 found emails or 100 verifications
  • 1 connected email account and 500 recipients per sequence
  • 100,000 saved leads
  • 10 AI searches a month

The browser extension works on every plan, including Free, per Hunter's plan FAQ. CampaignKit's free options work differently. The free email finder on our website needs no signup and gives you 5 searches an hour. A new account gets 200 free credits, no credit card, and they don't expire.

Credits, API and add-ons

Hunter's pricing page lists these add-ons (checked 2026-10-09):

  • Additional email accounts: from EUR 10 a month per account.
  • Managed domains and email accounts, and Inbox Protection: from EUR 5.34 a month per email account.
  • Credit packs: extra credits for paid plans, valid 3 months from purchase, with no auto-renewal. The pricing page didn't show pack prices when we checked.

On Hunter API pricing: API access is part of Hunter's integrations, and Hunter sells separate API-only Data Platform plans. Per the plan FAQ, those plans have separate Search and Verification quotas. If you mainly need the API, compare both options on Hunter's pricing page before you pick a plan.

When Hunter.io is the right call

Hunter does a lot in one subscription, and for many teams it's the better fit:

  • You want every address at a company. Domain Search lists them, and Bulk Domain Search covers up to 10 emails per credit.
  • You prospect in your browser. The extension works on every plan, including Free.
  • You send outreach from the same tool. Sequences connect 1 to 20 inboxes, depending on the plan.
  • You find and verify in one place. Verification comes out of the same credits at half a credit per address.
  • Your volume is steady. If you use most of your credits each month, a fixed plan is easy to budget, and the yearly plans bring the cost per found email down.
  • 50 lookups a month is enough. Then the Free plan may be all you need.
  • Your team already works in Hunter. Switching tools has its own cost.

If your volume is irregular, the reset and expiry rules above are worth weighing before you commit.

We list USD and Hunter lists EUR, and we haven't converted either, so the two can't be compared line by line. We're not claiming to be cheaper overall. Hunter's plans also include Domain Search, the browser extension and Sequences, which we don't offer. The difference is the model: Hunter's credits come with a subscription and reset or expire, while CampaignKit's packs are one-off and never expire.
